Each year, the city of Taylorsville hosts a Family Fun Weekend event called Taylorsville Dayzz. My kids look forward to this time of year each summer. Taylorsville Dayzz is always the last weekend in June, and runs Thursday-Saturday. Tim and I have been coming to Taylorsville Dayzz since the year we started dating. Which makes it 7 years this year. It is been something that we look forward to each year. I've come to enjoy it even more now that we have kids to share that joy with. Thursday we spend the entire night riding the City of Fun rides. This year it rained, but that did not stop us from having a fun time! We decided to go to leave during the time of the rain down pour and came back after the storm left. It was just perfect!
Friday we took the kids to the golfing range and then ate dinner at Hires. After that we headed to the Taylorsville Park to hang out and enjoyed the free concert and to watch the fireworks.
On Saturday, in the years past I always run the 5K and then watch the parade. This year, the kids were in the parade! Tim's dad and uncle were asked to be the Grand Marshall in the parade and asked the grand kids if they wanted to come ride/walk by them. That was such a fun thing for the kids. They even got to see the rest of the parade since they were the first ones in the parade. That night we spent time at Tim's parents house celebrating Tim's dad's birthday. We always have dinner and wait for the sky diver who comes to Taylorsville Dayzz and they land in the field in Tim's uncle's yard. We then head over to the park across the street to watch the fireworks spectacular. This always puts a smile on our faces!
