Tim and I had talked about wanting to put our house up for Sale, to be able to move forward in the next chapter in our lives. We have out grown this starter home, and really we had only planned on staying in this house for 5 years.When we first got married, were serving in the Young Single Adult Ward and wanted a place to live in the boundaries of that ward. But, last year when the 5 years had ended, the housing market was in bad shape, and the appraisal on our home was less than what we owed on it. ( We bought this home in 2007, at the peak of the housing market.) But, things have now changed...the housing market is on the up rise...

All of a sudden our next door neighbors home went up for Sale, and sold for a great price, within 2 weeks! Tim and I started to get serious in thinking maybe now was the time to put our house up on the market as well, just to see what happens. We thought, we have nothing to lose!

We hadn't yet decided where we would go. But,we knew we wanted to build the next home. We weren't sure where though

The Steadman Corner Lot

  We have been praying about it for the past little while. We had several ideas that we talked about, one being Tim would develop a new subdivision over off 2200 West, but than after a while we thought that would be a while before it was developed and ready to be built on. Then we had talked about a subdivision that Tim owns with Kehl Homes, off 7000 South in West Jordan, called Steadman Estates. There are 7 lots in this subdivision and 5 lots have been built on. There are only two lots were left. We had once thought about wanting to build in that subdivision when it was first being built,  but we didn't it could happen, since we were unable to move at the time the other homes were being built. Bu, now it turns out that corner lot is the only lot left ( the best lot in the subdivison.) We think this is a fabulous location, it's ready to be built on, and it's so close to where we live now.  Last week,we drove over to the lot and measured the plot.  Tim drew up a bid, and diagram to see if the house plan we wanted would fit the lot. It turned out it DOES! So, Tim and I kept thinking about it, and we couldn't stop feeling a strong sense of peace, knowing that this might be the lot that we should build on. We talked with the neighbors to see if there are many kids in the area. We were told there were lots of kids. He told us, there was a elementary school that was just kiddie corner from where the lot was, in the middle of the neighborhood  I had no idea that existed. We drove around the neighborhood  went on LDS.org and looked up the ward boundaries for that area, and where our church house would be. We felt really good about it. So, Tim told his Dad the following day, that we wanted to buy it from the company! We wanted to make sure we secured the lot with Tim's dad and Uncle, so we could ensure we could begin building on it, once we were able to.

So, for now...we shall see! We need to first sell our home.
