Taylorsville Dayzz has been an annual tradition for Tim and his family. We have gone every year since I have met him. The first year we went together was in 2007. We were just a days from getting engaged and I loved the time we spent at Taylorsville Dayzz, watching the fireworks, listening to the music and being with family. It is has now become one of our family's favorite tradition/holiday.
On Thursday, they have a carnival of rides that is half price. We head over there around 4 PM and ride the rides until the rides close. This year we ended up having tickets to the Bee's game with my family, so we rode the rides until 7PM and headed straight to the baseball game with cousins.
the next day, I took the kids to the pool for the afternoon. That night we went to dinner at Sizzler and met up with my sister and her family at the park to watch the fireworks.
On Saturday, we woke up at 6:00AM to head over to the Taylorsville Dayzz 5K and Kids Run. This is the first year that they had a kids run and my two older kids were so eager to want to join me! I ran the 5K and after I ran they had the kids run a 1 mile run. They did a fabulous job!
Once that was over, we went and watched the parade with my sister and her family, and Tim's parents. The kids LOVE it, running for the candy that is thrown and gathering up all the treasures that they give out.
That night we always head over to Tim's parents house for dinner. It is Tim's dad's birthday celebration. We order Chinese food, play games and watch the sky diver come land in Tim's parents field prior to the big fireworks show! We LOVE IT. It is always so much FUN!
It makes for a very busy weekend. We had a great time. Until next year......here are some of the memories that we made this year.
